![]() Warming Up to Mario Kart: My Experience with the Wii U Version ![]() As someone who used to have a reputation for disliking Mario Kart, I'm thrilled to say that my perception of the game has changed over time. It all started about 13 years ago when I first played Mario Kart Wii, which was actually my introduction to the Mario franchise. Fast forward to today, and I've recently purchased the Wii U version of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. My initial plan was to opt for the Deluxe version on the Nintendo Switch, but after some consideration, I decided to go with the Wii U version instead. The main reason for this decision was the significant price difference between the two versions. As long as online play and new tracks aren't essential features for me (which they're not at present), I'm happy with my choice. Both Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are exceptional games, and I'm excited to dive into the Wii U version. Once I've finished playing, I'll be sharing a list of pros and cons comparing this remake to the original Game Boy Advance (GBA) version. One aspect that slightly disappoints me is the design of the Koopas and Goombas in this remake. Compared to their more unique appearances in the original GBA version, they seem somewhat generic here. However, this minor quibble aside, I'm thoroughly enjoying the Wii U version of Mario Kart 8. Next Stop: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions I recently had the chance to play Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions, and I must say that it's an absolute masterpiece. The graphics are incredibly smooth, and the music is simply amazing. As someone who hadn't played this game before, I was blown away by its quality. Overall, my experience with Mario Kart Wii U has been a positive one, and I'm excited to see what other adventures await me in the world of Mario games.

La Haine: A Cinematic Exploration of Hate and Morality Being a French film, La Haine transports viewers to the gritty streets of Paris, far removed from the picturesque travel brochures that often define the city. Translated to mean "Hate", this emotion permeates every aspect of the story, which follows three young men with no direction, no job, and nothing but time on their hands. This is the picture La Haine paints: a world where moral equivalency prevails, leaving viewers to distinguish between bad and less bad. ![]() In today's complex world, "right" often comes up empty-handed, and the line between good and evil can be perilously fine. Civic and moral dilemmas frequently go unresolved, with right often surrendering to wrong in the end. La Haine challenges these notions, forcing viewers to confront the harsh realities of life. Watching this film, I couldn't help but think back to a range of classic Warner Brothers films from the Forties and Fifties that tackled poverty and its devastating consequences on individuals and society. These stories often centered around crime and lost lives, themes that are eerily relevant today. La Haine takes a similar approach, using the lens of hate to explore the depths of human suffering.
